Program Description

Description

The gardening season is rapidly approaching. Imagine what planting a garden would have been like during the dark days of WWII. Jeffrey Urbin, an Educationalist Specialist at the Roosevelt Library and Museum will be speaking at the Greenbush Historical Society meeting on Sunday, April 21 about such a time. The program will discuss the unprecedented contributions made by millions of Americans who literally fought for the war in their own backyards with small plots called "Victory Gardens." Where did this idea come from? Did the "Victory Gardens" actually help the war effort? These topics and more will be discussed at the East Greenbush Library program on April 21 at 2 PM. All are welcome to this free program , however, seating is limited. Please register with the East Greenbush Library at 518 477 7476.
