Program Description

Description

Join the Greenbush Historical Society on Sunday, March 17 at 2 PM for an informative talk on the friendship between Martin Van Buren (our 8th President) and Washington Irving (author of the famous American ghost story, The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow). Irving spent a great deal of time at the Van Buren estate in Kinderhook which was named "Lindenwald." The mansion is now a national historic site along with much of the original farm property. Our program will be presented by Melissa Dalley, a docent at Lindenwald. Meetings are held at the East Greenbush Library each month. Since seating is limited, please call 518 477 7476 to reserve a space. All are welcome to these free presentations.
