Program Description

Description

East Greenbush Town Historian, Bobbie Reno, presents the American Revolution and historical ties to the Greenbush area. In this talk you'll learn the details of Colonel Henry Knox who brought cannons and other artillery from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston via oxen over trecherous conditions of snow and ice. She will also shed light on the importance of Cuff Ashport and his legacy. Little was recorded about Cuff as he was not an officer in the Continental Army but an enlisted man who valiantly kept re-enlisting to fight for the freedom of a nation that would not grant him his own freedom--he would have to buy it.
