Program Description

Description

Swing music swept the nation in the 1930s and the 1940s.  While New York City was the epicenter of the Big Bands, cities and towns around the country featured home-grown bands of their own.

Join Michael Catoggio and Bill Schilling as they share the story of the swing time scene in the greater Albany area.  Learn about the top, local bands and the variety of venues in which they played.  It's a colorful and rich look into a lost corner of our local history. This presentation will be packed with unique photos and images.
