Description
This is a free educational program offered by the non-profit the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, funded by the New York State Department of Health to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, and to promote early diagnosis. This program will explore memory, thinking and behavioral problems that interfere with daily living due to Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. The purpose of this program is to help people recognize common signs of the disease and know what to watch for in themselves and others. We will discuss typical age-related changes, describe common signs of Alzheimer’s and dementia, offer tips for how to approach someone about memory concerns, and explain the importance of early detection and benefits of diagnosis. We will also share helpful Alzheimer’s Association programs and services.
