Description

As the first civil rights movement in the United States, the Underground Railroad is so much more than we have been led to believe. Join with Paul and Mary Liz Stewart to take a deeper dive into this transformative period in American history that is related with us today. Learn more about the Underground Railroad Education Center.

Paul & Mary Liz Stewart have been appointed Scholars-in-Residence at Russell Sage College. Awards include the Sense of Place Award from the City of Albany, the Black History Month Service and Leadership Award from the NYS Department of Health Affirmative Action Advisory Committee, and the Underground Railroad Free Press Prize for Preservation for their restoration work on the historic Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence.
