Description
Jim Cochran, Educator and historian, will present “Military Ballooning in the Civil War.” Starting with an interesting flight in Albany in 1833 and continuing to the balloon reconnaissance during the Peninsula Campaign of 1862-1863, Jim’s talk will have us wondering if the Civil War Balloon Corps can be called the first US Air Force.
