Program Description

Description

Wizards, writing & finding our gold; fiction writing as a tool for self-discovery.

What is creative inspiration and where does it come from?  How can we encourage it in our lives and what is the value of doing so?  Through readings from her work and discussion, Dr. Collins will share ideas about inviting the wise and fantastic beings within us to speak as we create enjoyable literature for others and gain personal insights for ourselves.

Pam Collins is a retired professor of Writing, Literature, and Communications at SUNY Cobleskill.  Her recently completed Rowan Branch Trilogy opened her to insights about the relationship between fiction writing and plumbing the richness of our unconscious.  She currently lives on Snyder's Lake with her partner David.
