Chess players, come enjoy an afternoon of friendly competition with your friends and neighbors. All skill levels welcome, but no formal instruction will be provided. We will supply chess sets, coffee, and snacks. Player match-up will begin at 2:00, with game play expected to start around 2:15.
Not a chess player? Board games and playing cards will also be on hand. Registration is appreciated but not required.

Environmental economists at the University of Connecticut are conducting a nationally-relevant study on how water quality affects people's quality of life. Massachusetts, New York, and Connecticut will be three focus states. We need 8-12 volunteers for informal discussions of how water quality in rivers and streams affects residents. Inputs from participants of the feedback session will be used to develop survey questionnaires used for residents' valuation of water quality improvements in water bodies in and around their county/state/region.
The Friends support the library as an indispensable expanding resource through fundraising donations and grants to the library through their book sales and membership drives.
