Canine and Feline Dental Care 101

Come to an interactive session on how to care for your pet's teeth.  You will learn the basics of what is best for your pet's dental health at any age and how to start or add to your at home pet care. 

• We will show a skeleton of the dentition of a cat and dog and talk about the most important teeth to keep healthy. 
• We will also discuss how to look for VOHC (veterinary oral health council) products that are best for your pet's teeth. 
• We will touch base on some of the oral disease from periodontal disease, fractured teeth, and feline stomatitis and oral tooth resorption. 
• How to examine your pet's mouth and what to look for.
• What happens during a pet's dental procedure at the vet and what questions you should be asking?

This class will be presented by Dr. Rose Broglio from Nassau Veterinary Clinic who has been doing dentals since 1991 and TracyKim Coons who is a licensed veterinary technician who specializes in veterinary dentistry.
