The library is having a celebration to honor Michael Poost for his long and accomplished service as a Trustee of the East Greenbush Community Library. Serving as an elected Library Trustee for 32 years, most of that time in a board leadership role, Michael has dedicated his time and talent to creating, maintaining, and ensuring the future of the East Greenbush Community Library. From his work on the original creation of the library district, to lending his professional expertise to the design and construction of the library building, he has helped the library grow, quite literally from the ground up! More recently, he has led the effort to responsibly manage library funds to allow the library to maintain the facility for future generations in the community. He has also been a leader in strategic planning, board recruitment, and mentorship of new library trustees. In 2023, the Upper Hudson Library System presented Michael with the 2022 UHLS Trustee of the Year Award.
