Library Advocacy Day: February 7!  Support your Library!

The library receives State Aid through the State Budget.  This aid funds the library's programming and activities and helps the library with critical building improvements.  The Governor’s Executive Budget calls for a slight increase in Library Aid and keeps Construction Aid flat. We need to call on our elected officials to increase funding for NYS Libraries!

Library Advocacy Day is February 7 and hundreds of library advocates will meet with their elected officials to advocate for more library funding.  You can advocate for the library by filling out a letter (see attachments) and leaving it at the Circulation Desk or the Friends will be in the library lobby taking completed forms on Saturday, February 3rd between 10:30 am - 1:30 pm.  Library advocates will bring your letter to the State Capitol on February 7.

You can also go to the New York Library Associate website (nyla.org) and there are links to email your legislator and other ideas to get involved.

Let your voice be heard - let your representatives know how you use the library and what it means to you!
