Susan Petrie, a Troy native, will read and discuss 3 poems from her book, Hundred-Mile Home: A Story Map of Albany, Troy, and the Hudson River. Susan has spent close to ten years wandering and photographing along the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers, attending to the secret places where our human and natural stories converge.

Susan’s work has been published online with Sleet MagazineBloodroot Literary Journal, Jon Bowermater’s "Hudson River Stories," and The NYS Writer’s Institute Trolley. Check out Hundred-Mile Home at the library. Website: https://www.susanpetrie.com/

Ron Pavoldi will discuss the varied elements that lead to his poem “Pictures of a Sea”, where family history, dreams, myths, the present, and lifelong practice converge as a personification of the Volturno River in Italy emptying into the Tyrrhenian Sea.

R.A. (Ron) Pavoldi is a self-trained poet writing over 50 years and credits the Napolitano American dialect and school of hard knocks for his voices. Places he has published include: The Hudson Review, North American Review, FIELD, Cold Mountain Review, Crab Orchard Review, Hanging Loose, and Subnivean. Website: https://www.pw.org/directory/writers/r_a_pavoldi
